"Life is like a box of chocolates..."
~Momma"

Love, is like a game of cards.

We all eventually take a seat at the table. Watch the deck shuffle, and the dealer passes out the cards. The girl across the table winks at you. Ante up Pardner...

But at this table, this game we dont put forth gold, trinkets, or paper. We put pieces of our heart up there. Stakes are high, chances slim, but the thrill of a huge win keeps us in the game. Much like Poker, Texas Holdem, and the lot we arent exactly sure whats going on in the heads round the table, all we know is we have a vested interest in winning. Dont we all? Sadly, this isnt always the case. Or they wouldnt have a cruel move called the "bluff" in there would they?

As the game becomes more serious, more and more is wagered on both sides. Both sides would like to win, some just want it more than others. Some, have to win or it will ruin them. But the stakes are always high, and even if you fold early, you arent left unscathed. There will always be lingering doubts as to wether you might have won it all in the next hand.

There is also a penalty for being too greedy. All in too soon and the whole table might fold. And what have you gained? Nothing. Its win or lose, there is no 2nd, or 3rd place at this table.

Some hands are destined to be losers. Some people want the fast game, Blackjack. Two cards, twenty one. Blow me.

Most want the big pot.

Knowing when they are bluffing or not, can be the most nerve killing experience we can get. It can also be embarrassing, like proposing on national tv, in a crowd at a football game, or on the air....and you crash and burn. You went all in too soon there fella.

If you want to win, you have to play the game. You must ante up, and take your cards. There is no prize for spectating. Its knowing when to hold em, when to fold em, when to.....ok that was getting weird for a sec.

But Im sure I made my point.

Nothing wagered, nothing gained.

And its quite normal to be scared to look at the cards, cuz I am too.
